The 2019 edition of Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR) took place in capital Nur-Sultan in mid-May. At the presence of prime minister Askar Mamin, cabinet members and representatives of state agencies met with investors from all over the world to sign agreements worth a total of $9bn and develop perceptions of Kazakhstan as a major investment destination for traditional, as well as new sectors, as the country transitions towards a new era after first president Nursultan Nazarbayev stepped down in March.
